Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for Seattle, WA, Tue–Sat 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Pay range is $44.35–$47.60 per hour with possible shift differentials.

The role includes performing high/medium complexity testing with independent judgment, QC, and instrument troubleshooting. Qualifications include 1 year of clinical lab experience (2+ preferred), a relevant degree, and LIS/MIS proficiency.

Qualifications

• One year full-time experience or training (high complexity testing) in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Preferred: minimum of 3 years clinical experience with most recent year in present department.
• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or an Associate degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and be proficient troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures in the department.
• Provide support to the department in quality control, troubleshooting complex problems, customer support, instrument and equipment maintenance, staff training, process improvement and special projects.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with SOPs ensuring QC requirements are met.
• Adhere to laboratory policies for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record keeping.
• Maintain turnaround times including STATS or critical results to clients.
• Enter test results into the LIS for standardized reports.
• Maintain lab areas and equipment in a safe, clean condition.
• May assist supervisor with training of other laboratory personnel.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
