The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Culver City retail location. You will collaborate with the Store Manager to drive sales, manage staff, and ensure smooth daily operations while upholding ARC standards and community outreach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid Driver's license, able to pass MVR report (required), able to show proof of insurance and have access to a motor vehicle.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role with the Store Manager in day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
• Manage day-to-day operations in the Store Manager's absence, including personnel and cash handling duties.
• Monitor KPIs to drive store sales and profitability as budgets and goals require.
• Schedule staff to ensure coverage and lead daily team meetings; maintain payroll records and attendance edits.
• Hire, train, and coach store team; address performance and disciplinary issues with guidance from leadership.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and strengthen community relations.
• Support Back Room Processing to meet daily goals; oversee Beneficiaries on Work Therapy Assignments.
• Protect store currency, inventory, and property; maintain security and safety protocols.
