Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Chicago seeks a General Manager to direct operations, facilities, business, and programs. You will ensure the center operates at full capacity in alignment with the mission and remains financially sound, reporting to the Kroc Officers.

Responsibilities include budgeting, program oversight, staff leadership, safety compliance, and partnerships with HR and leadership teams to drive guest service and organizational success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Recreation Management or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in management of a comprehensive recreation facility.
• Experience developing and administering budgets of at least $3 million.
• Proven leadership in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and evaluate annual operating budgets to meet goals.
• Lead fiscally sound programs and manage program directors.
• Oversee staffing, HR requirements, and business development.
• Ensure staff scheduling supports service levels.
• Lead capital improvement planning with leadership teams.
• Maintain safety, policies, and compliance across the center.
• Collaborate with HR to update the operations manual.
• Review contracts and vendor relationships for best value.
