Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division seeks a General Manager to lead the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Grand Rapids, MI, ensuring smooth daily operations and achievement of strategic goals.

You will direct budgeting, staffing, programming, and risk management, coordinating with the Senior Kroc Officer and Center directors to deliver high-quality community services and maintain Gold level standards while engaging with local partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Masters’ Degree in Business Administration, Recreation Management, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or relevant field.
• Minimum five years of experience in program development, planning, management, and evaluation for non-profit programs, including administering budgets, planning, staff development, membership service and community relations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee facility budgets and financial plans.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently for all communications.
• Deliver public speaking and represent the center in community forums.
• Lead daily operations and supervise directors and managers.
• Ensure risk management and emergency procedures are in place.
• Oversee facility inspections, repairs, and capital improvements.
• Coordinate programs with marketing, HR and board leadership.
• Maintain Kroc Center standards and achieve Gold level rating.
• Support staff policies, procedures, and HR activities.
• Engage with community partners and lead staff meetings.
