Job summary

Defense Unicorns is seeking a Mission Director to own and drive end-to-end Navy mission systems and aviation contracts. You will identify opportunities, shape solutions, and lead teams through proposal, negotiation, and contract award, maintaining accountability for delivery, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction.

The role requires broad ownership across contracts, with travel 25–40% and a focus on building trusted customer relationships in NAVWAR and related domains.

Qualifications

• Experience in Navy mission environments or related defense domain.
• Proven ability to identify, shape, and close opportunities in complex programs.
• Strong understanding of acquisition, contracting, and government procurement processes.
• Experience leading diverse teams and managing portfolios with revenue responsibility.
• Familiarity with cloud-native tech and modern software delivery concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build the business by identifying and developing net-new Navy opportunities and growing a diversified portfolio.
• Shape and close opportunities by defining customer problems and leading through proposals to award.
• Own contract execution with accountability for delivery, risk, and margins.
• Build and lead the team required for contract execution and scale program leadership.
• Grow the portfolio by pursuing follow-on work and expansions while protecting gross margin.
