Job summary

Defense Unicorns seeks a Mission Director in the United States to own end-to-end defense opportunities for Army clients. You will identify, shape, and close new business, then lead contracts through lifecycle with delivery and program leadership support as the portfolio scales.

You will build trusted relationships with Mission Heroes, shape solutions, and drive revenue growth while managing risk, margins, and customer outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience within PAE Fires/Maneuver Ground or related defense environment.
• Strong domain knowledge with stakeholders and mission terminology.
• Experience in military operations, government program management, acquisition, contracting, or defense program leadership.
• Working knowledge of federal acquisition, contract vehicles, strategies, and negotiations.
• Strong commercial judgment and revenue ownership.
• Ability to lead teams and drive outcomes.
• Willingness to operate across BD, contracting, staffing, and execution.
• Comfort with ambiguity and building path forward.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop opportunities, build relationships with Mission Heroes.
• Own a quota and grow a diversified portfolio of business.
• Define problems and shape solutions using Defense Unicorns products.
• Lead opportunities through proposal, negotiation, and award.
• Serve as program leader for new contracts and ensure execution.
• Manage delivery risks, scope changes, and mission outcomes.
• Define and build teams for contract execution and scale with portfolio.
• Maintain an active pipeline and pursue follow-on and adjacent opportunities.
