Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, management, and execution of multiple construction projects. This role focuses on delivering quality outcomes, fostering client relationships, and driving profitability by aligning with Layton's standards and processes.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a construction field, along with 2+ years in commercial construction, reading blueprints, and strong communication and negotiation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Commercial Construction (preferred).
Has a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Excellent communication skills; proper grammar and syntax.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects.
Prepare project budgets and unit cost reports.
Develop project schedules and milestones with the Project Superintendent.
Negotiate subcontracts and manage change orders.
Maintain owner relations and client pay requests.
Oversee procurement within budget and schedule constraints.
Ensure safety, quality, and risk management plans are developed and followed.
Conduct pre-construction planning meetings and project close-out procedures.
