Job summary

Silvus Technologies seeks a Business Development Engineer (BDE) for USSOCOM to bridge RF capabilities with SOCOM requirements. You will work with engineering and business development to demonstrate interoperability and field-readiness of StreamCaster radios across multi‑domain environments, with up to 50% travel and a remote-work option depending on location.

Reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering, you will help translate field feedback into product roadmap inputs and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electrical/Computer/Network Engineering or C5ISR field with 2–5 years in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense tech.
• High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to SDRs, IP routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment contingent upon successful background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USSOCOM capability gaps and map operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Support field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate to leverage testing and benchmarking data to validate architectures.
• Align work with Strategic priorities in partnership with BD team.
• Build and present technical demonstrations for low-signature, resilient, tactical edge needs.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and technical reviews.
• Perform market research for potential industry integrations and end-to-end networks.
• Engage with USSOCOM stakeholders and translate needs into roadmap inputs.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites and labs.
