Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Millwright for permanent, on-site work in Jackson, MI. The role involves installing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical equipment across multiple factory sites.

You will read schematics, fabricate parts with MIG/STICK welding, and perform preventive maintenance to keep systems running smoothly. Travel by company vehicle to plants, work independently or in a team, and contribute to a wide variety of tasks with substantial overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a Mechanical Maintenance role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Welding and fabrication skills (MIG and STICK).
• possess basic hand tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Report to the home office and coordinate daily tasks with the manager.
• Travel to plants with a company truck and sometimes with a teammate.
• Perform on-site mechanical maintenance including furnaces, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, conveyors.
• Read blueprints and interpret schematics for installations.
• Install machinery using layouts; use hand and power tools for repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment and fabricate parts as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure efficiency.

Job description

Job Title: Millwright

This position requires installing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical equipment. You will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance tasks, primarily focused on mechanical repairs at various factory sites.

Responsibilities

• Report to the home office and meet with the manager to discuss daily tasks.
• Drive a company truck to the plant, often traveling with another team member.
• Perform mechanical maintenance on-site, including work on furnaces, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, chain replacements, and conveyor systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Install industrial machinery and mechanical equipment using layouts.
• Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot machinery to identify and resolve issues.
• Fabricate parts using MIG or stick welding techniques.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Mechanical Maintenance role.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprint and schematic readings.
• Welding and fabrication skills, including MIG and Stick welding.
• Possession of basic hand tools.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in electrical maintenance is beneficial.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Jackson, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
