As a Millwright Apprentice, you will support experienced millwrights with equipment installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and rigging work for both local and national customers. You will work primarily in agricultural processing plants, ethanol plants, and grain elevators, both indoors and outdoors, depending on project needs. Typical crews consist of 45 team members led by a foreman or superintendent, fostering a collaborative and hands‑on learning environment. Standard hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some variation based on project requirements. The role involves frequent use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rigging gear, and fabrication tools in industrial settings. You will regularly work at heights and around heavy equipment, following strict safety practices. Travel is split roughly 50% local and 50% out‑of‑town, with work performed at multiple customer sites, providing exposure to a variety of facilities and equipment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CEDAR RAPIDS, IA.
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
