Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Memphis, TN to lead maintenance, repair, and installation activities ensuring equipment reliability and uninterrupted production. You will manage utility systems and drive predictive maintenance programs while coaching a technical team.

You will collaborate with engineering on upgrades and capital projects, source tools and parts, and ensure regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and hands-on troubleshooting are essential.

Qualifications

  • 34 years of maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • 23 years of supervisory/leadership experience in maintenance.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics for machinery.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting to support automated equipment.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques for equipment repair.
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate maintenance teams.
  • Strong safety, regulatory, and environmental systems understanding.
  • Experience coordinating electrical, HVAC, steam, gas, and compressed air maintenance.
  • Experience developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all maintenance, repair, and installation activities to ensure equipment reliability and uninterrupted production operations.

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor leads and oversees all maintenance, repair, and installation activities to ensure equipment reliability and uninterrupted production operations. This role coordinates maintenance teams and technical personnel in the fabrication, modification, and improvement of machinery, tools, and equipment, while managing plant utility systems such as electrical, compressed air, steam, gas, and HVAC to support continuous operations. The Maintenance Supervisor develops and maintains preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize equipment uptime and efficiency, conducts routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and drives process improvements and best practices to reduce downtime and control costs. This position also collaborates closely with engineering and operations teams on equipment upgrades and capital projects, manages maintenance-related sourcing and expenditures, and provides training, coaching, and development for maintenance personnel.

  • Identify and implement process improvements, maintenance strategies, and best practices to reduce downtime, control costs, and improve productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on equipment upgrades, modifications, and capital improvement projects.
  • Source and procure maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies, including obtaining vendor quotes and managing project expenditures.
  • Ensure environmental systems and emission control equipment operate effectively and remain compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel on technical skills, safety requirements, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and leadership teams to troubleshoot maintenance issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations matters and support performance management activities when necessary.
  • Monitor departmental spending and contribute to budget management and cost-control efforts.
  • Maintain accountability for company assets by ensuring equipment is properly operated, inspected, cleaned, and maintained to prevent unnecessary damage.
  • Evaluate workforce training needs and recommend improvements to work methods, procedures, and employee development programs.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance production processes, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Guide, mentor, and motivate maintenance team members to achieve departmental goals and performance objectives.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices, and by conducting corrective and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Perform hands-ons troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems as needed to support maintenance activities.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues and plan repairs or modifications.
  • Oversee and support PLC troubleshooting and basic welding tasks as part of maintenance operations.
Essential Skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
