Job summary

Electrical Career Specialists, Inc. is partnering with a fast-growing electrical equipment manufacturer to recruit an experienced Regional Sales Manager/Business Development Manager for a newly created role in the Chicagoland/Milwaukee corridor.

You will develop new business, build relationships with end users, engineering firms and EPCs, and support design/specification stages, with approximately 25% travel. This home-based role offers a base salary of $150,000–$165,000 plus bonus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sales, business development or related customer-facing experience within the electrical power equipment industry.
• Strong experience with switchgear, circuit breakers, fuses/protection, transformers and/or related power distribution equipment.
• Manufacturer or Rep experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to develop new business and customer relationships.
• Experience with specification-driven sales and working with engineers, EPCs and large end users.
• Solid technical understanding of electrical power distribution systems and equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus; directly related industry experience will also be considered.
• Must reside within the Chicagoland-to-Milwaukee corridor.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business throughout the territory with a focus on electrical power distribution and protection products.
• Build relationships with key end users, engineering firms, EPCs and other strategic customers and partners.
• Work with customers and engineers during the design/specification stages of projects.
• Develop opportunities within industrial, commercial, data center and other large power-user markets.
• Conduct customer meetings, technical presentations and product introductions.
• Develop and execute territory/account strategies to increase market penetration.
• Work effectively with the company's manufacturer's representative and internal technical resources.
