Job summary

SMA America in the Midwest is seeking a Field Service Engineer, Medium Voltage, to test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SMA MV systems in the field across the region. A company truck is provided for site work and travel.

MV certification through the AVO Training Institute, sponsored by SMA, is offered, along with inverter training at Rocklin, CA. Three levels exist; compensation is set by experience and scope during interviews.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical MV systems.
• Background in MV systems, substation work, or electrical trade preferred.
• Willingness to travel regionally across the Midwest as required.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SMA Medium Voltage systems in the field.
• Handle Medium Voltage escalations for SMA customers and suppliers.
• Collaborate with the MV engineering team to resolve field issues and support warranty repairs.
• Provide extensive testing of internal components and field equipment.
