Job summary

SMA America, the U.S. subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG, is seeking a Field Service Engineer, Medium Voltage for the Midwest region (Chicago, IL). The role is field-based and requires regional travel with a company-provided truck, tools, and MV certification sponsorship.

Qualifications

• At least one year of hands-on experience in an electrical, electronic, utility, or field service role.
• Demonstrated exposure to medium voltage equipment through employment, apprenticeship, or military service.
• An associate degree in electrical or electronic technology, a completed trade or apprenticeship program, or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet SMA travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily job site safety briefings and mitigate hazards.
• Performs testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of SMA Medium Voltage systems in the field.
• Maintains accurate field service reports and documentation.
• Leads Level II/III activities and supports customer communications on site.
