Job summary

Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center in Montgomery seeks a results-oriented Group Sales Manager to lead the regional group and convention sales strategy, cultivate relationships with planners, and maximize room nights and revenue.

This role emphasizes Marriott brand experience, CI/TY and Cvent proficiency, and the ability to work remotely within a defined territory while delivering exceptional hospitality and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years proactive group sales experience at a full-service or convention hotel.
• Proven prospecting habits: outbound calls, solicitation blitzes, trips, tradeshows with a track record of meeting or beating goals.
• Existing relationships with Midwest meeting planners, associations, SMERF groups, and third-party intermediaries.
• Experience with Marriott CI/TY and Cvent lead management highly preferred.
• Experience managing a defined geographic territory and building a proactive outreach pipeline.
• Strong negotiation and contracting within Marriott standards; ability to quote above/below rate floors.
• Self-directed and capable of working remotely with planned activity and pace tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead group sales strategy for a convention hotel and drive revenue and room nights.
• Develop and maintain relationships with planners, associations, and intermediaries.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to maximize conversion and performance.
