Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking an engineering estimator to provide technical engineering and cost information, ensuring construction work complies with engineering standards. You will assist with controls to meet contract, budget and schedule, interpret drawings for craft workers, and prepare documentation for bids.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, 0–2 years of estimating or field support, and proficiency with MS Office and AGTEK Take-off

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Take-off software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems to verify compliance with codes, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches and material calculations for accuracy.
• Provide technical support regarding project material controls to minimize added costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
