Job summary

Granite Construction Company in the United States is seeking an experienced estimator to provide technical engineering and cost information, ensuring construction work complies with engineering standards.

You will assist controls for contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing, interpret drawings for craft workers, and interface with on-site teams to resolve issues and keep the project on track. Strong knowledge of MS Office and AGTEK Take-off is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• 2+ years' construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and AGTEK Take-off software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems and errors to ensure compliance with codes and specs.
• Prepare and disseminate documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, sketches, and material calculations.
• Provide technical support and direction regarding project material controls to minimize costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
