Job summary

KIPP Columbus is seeking a highly qualified Special Educator for the Resource Room Intervention Specialist role. You will teach Math or English to students with disabilities in small groups, provide specially designed instruction, and lead transitions during the Diverse Learning Lab period.

The position emphasizes servicing students with disabilities, implementing IEPs, collaborating with families and related service providers, and adhering to Ohio standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Current Ohio Special Education Intervention Specialist License or willingness and ability to pursue certification by start date via Traditional, Alternative or Supplemental pathways.
• Experience writing IEPs, progress monitoring, progress reporting & data collection.
• Experience using SameGoal to create special education documents.
• Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Design and execute individualized instructional strategies aligned with Ohio Learning Standards.
• Provide direct intervention for students with disabilities in the special education setting.
• Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet students' unique learning needs.
• Use evidence-based instructional strategies to support academic growth.
• Serve as a liaison between students, families, and related service providers.
• Ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP and MTSS meetings.
• Implement behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports.
• Provide social-emotional learning (SEL) support to students with disabilities.
