Job summary

KIPP Columbus is seeking a highly qualified Special Educator to deliver specially designed instruction to students with disabilities on a dedicated caseload.

You will implement IEPs, collaborate with general education staff, and participate in MTSS and IEP meetings, all within our anti-racist, equity-focused framework.

The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, communication with families, and providing inclusive practices across KIPP's diverse learning community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Ohio Special Education license or ability to pursue certification by start date (Traditional/Alternative/Supplemental).
• Experience with IEPs, progress monitoring and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Design and execute instructional strategies aligned with the Ohio Academic Content Standards.
• Provide direct intervention for students with disabilities in general and special education settings.
• Differentiate instruction and modify curriculum to meet students' learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to co-plan and co-teach lessons.
• Serve as a liaison between students, teachers, families, and related service providers.
• Participate in MTSS/IEP meetings and implement BIPs.
• Support social-emotional learning and de-escalation strategies.
• Maintain documentation and progress reports for IEPs.
