Job summary

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT #61 FARMINGTON is seeking a Reading and Literacy Specialist to lead literacy initiatives, support teachers, and coordinate evidence-based literacy strategies across the district.

This exempt position reports to the Principal and requires collaboration with administrators and staff to improve student reading and writing outcomes through targeted interventions and professional development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in literacy or related field.
• Five years teaching experience.
• NH Teacher certification or eligibility.
• Experience coordinating and providing coaching to educators and leading professional development activities.
• Ability to develop professional relationships with staff.
• Time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coordination, collaboration and intervention support in reading curriculum and instruction.
• Assist teachers with research-based strategies to improve literacy outcomes.
• Collaborate with administrators and teachers on literacy initiatives and assessment tools.
• Develop and implement literacy interventions and district literacy plans.
• Provide ongoing professional development to staff on literacy best practices.
• Support families and community with literacy information and resources.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and promote respectful classroom environments.
• Meet professional education requirements of school, district and state.
