Job summary

KIPP Northern California is seeking a paraeducator in Oakland, CA to reinforce core academics and behavioral supports in both in-person and distance learning settings. The role collaborates with Education Specialists to implement instructional activities and supports students’ access to the learning environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with behavior plans, fostering inclusive student interactions, and providing testing accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus higher credentials as listed.
• A.A. degree or 48 college units, or BA degree.
• Pass the ParaPro or CBEST per requirements.
• Commitment to KIPP mission and anti-racist pedagogy.
• Strong relationship-building with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning activities in small groups or one‑to‑one.
• Support behavior interventions using approved strategies.
• Foster positive relationships among students with and without disabilities.
• Assist with in-class and distance learning.
• Attend IEP meetings, conferences, and student study meetings.
