Job summary

KIPP Public Schools Northern California seeks a paraeducator to support students with and without disabilities across core academic areas in in-person and virtual settings. You will reinforce learning activities, assist with behavior plans, and help students access all aspects of the educational environment.

The role requires a HS diploma or higher, with a BA or 48 units or ParaPro/CBEST. Proficiency with Google Suite and distance-learning tools is preferred, and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent, and a BA degree (or minimum 48 units in process) or pass the ParaPro Assessment or CBEST.
• Paid or volunteer experience with individuals with academic, behavioral, or functional needs preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications (Google Classroom, Hangout, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) and ability to learn instructional tech for in-class/distance learning.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small groups or 1:1 to reinforce learning activities.
• Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Foster positive relationships between students with disabilities and non-disabled peers.
• Model appropriate behavior and provide emotional support to students.
• Support students in field trips and school assemblies or productions.
• Provide testing accommodations and monitor student progress.
