Position Overview: Educational Assistant Level IV- Special Education
Location: Multiple
Hours/Day: 7.25
Day/Year: 172 days per year
Compensation/benefits:Burnsville Association of Educational Assistants Contract
Note: Education Assistants proficient in a second language, American Sign Language, or Braille will earn an additional $.75 above the hourly wage when it is a regular requirement for the position.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to elementary special education students.
  • Work under the direction of special educators to reinforce instructional strategies, provide behavior support, and assist with personal care in all school environments.
  • Work as a team member to implement IEP based instructional goals and adaptations including assistive technology.
  • Collect student data and third-party billing record documentation.
  • Promote inclusion and self-sufficiency of students in the school community.

Qualifications:
  • Must meet highly qualified standards as defined by the state
    • Completion of AA degree, 60 college level credits or completion of Master Teacher exam
    • Completion of a pre-employment physical and drug screen is also required
