Job summary

  • This position will spend approximately 35% of the time assisting the head coach in instructing and teaching student athletes in fundamentals of sport technique and strategy as well as planning and executing practice and competition plans. Additional responsibilities may include team warm-ups, strength and conditioning, choreography, spotting, and meet management.
  • In addition, they will spend 25% of their time recruiting and evaluating qualified athletes to the University of Minnesota.
  • The remaining 40% of their time will be devoted to operational duties including but not limited to securing judges for the season, planning and executing team travel, preparing and submitting budget expenses, preparing all recruiting communication, calendar management, as well as working as a liaison with various contacts within the department.
  • The employer retains the right to change or assign other duties in this position.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, boosters, clubs, alumni, high school coaches, media and the general public.
  • Represent the University and its athletic programs in a positive fashion.
  • Commit to adhering to all rules and regulations of the department, University, and Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.

Successful candidates will Assist in advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity.

  • Previous gymnastics experience at the Division 1 Level

Pay And Benefits

Pay Range: $45,500 - $50,000 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
