Job summary

Relative Dynamics is seeking a Mid-Level System Engineer to support the USGS EROS Center. The role is full-time and onsite in the Sioux Falls, SD area, requiring US citizenship for ITAR eligibility.

You will work on satellite communications ground systems, assist with SE activities, and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure mission requirements are met. A strong background in electrical engineering and schematics reading is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Satellite Communications/Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 4-6 years in Satellite Communications Engineering or equivalent; LEO satellite experience a plus.
• US Citizenship required due to ITAR.
• Three years of continuous U.S. residency for government credentials.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and maintenance for all ground station equipment.
• Develop Satellite Communications systems to meet mission requirements including antennas and RF gear.
• Coordinate activities with Systems, Hardware, Software engineers and project teams.
• Conduct SE activities per the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
• Assist with operations concepts, requirements, and interface definitions.
• Perform architecture and trade studies, integration planning, and formal tests.
• Support deployments at remote partner locations.
• Ensure activities comply with standards and CM processes.
