Job summary

Relative Dynamics invites applications for a Mid-Level System Engineer to support the USGS EROS Center in Sioux Falls, SD. This full-time onsite position requires collaboration across engineers and scientists to design and maintain satellite ground station systems, including antennas and RF equipment.

You’ll implement SE processes and work with NASA/Landsat projects. Ideal candidates have 4–6 years in satellite communications engineering, are US citizens per ITAR, and can obtain security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Satellite Communications/Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in Satellite Communications Engineering or equivalent.
  • US Citizenship is required due to ITAR requirements.
  • Three years of continuous residency in the U.S. for government security credential issuance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation for facility access.

  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and mentors who are passionate about innovation.
  • Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in Satellite Communications and system development.
  • Be part of a team that values curiosity, creativity, and continuous learning.
  • Provide engineering support and maintenance for all ground station equipment.
  • Provide Satellite Communications systems engineering support to develop ground-based systems in accordance with mission requirements, including antennas, RF equipment, and ground station equipment.
  • Coordinate activities and status with Systems Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, and project teams.
  • Conduct systems engineering activities as per the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).
  • Support operations concepts, requirements development, and interface definitions.
  • Conduct architecture and trade studies, develop integration plans, and perform integration/testing analysis.
  • Support integration activities at remote partner locations.
  • Ensure activities comply with standards and best practices.
  • Submit, analyze, and manage CM change requests.
