Job summary

Cadmus seeks a Mid-Level Full Stack Java Developer to join a multi-year Federal contract. You will build and maintain modern web apps using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular, delivering robust REST APIs and database integration.

You will work across layers, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to code reviews while collaborating with architects, testers, and business stakeholders. Cadmus offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience and 6+ years of software/application development experience, mainly within Java & the Spring ecosystem including: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data/JPA/Hibernate
Strong front-end development experience with Angular and strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services.
Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle.
Experience with JSON and XML
Strong experience with Apache Maven, including pom.xml configuration, dependency management, plugins, profiles, build lifecycle, and packaging/deployment.
Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative development.
Understanding software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with legacy application modernization
Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

Participate throughout the Agile software development lifecycle, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and retrospective activities.
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
Develop and maintain responsive web applications using AngularTypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
Design and implement RESTful web services and APIs using Spring Boot.
Develop application components following established coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
Work with relational databases, including Oracle / SQL Server, and develop efficient SQL queries and database integrations.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, test, and production environments.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving application quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
Translate functional requirements into technical designs and implementation tasks.
Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to deliver application enhancements.
Develop unit and integration tests and support automated testing activities.
Maintain and enhance existing and legacy applications while incrementally introducing modern Spring and Angular technologies when they improve maintainability, reliability, or delivery efficiency.
Participate in application deployment and production support activities.
Mentor junior developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
Create and maintain technical documentation, application flow diagrams, and implementation guides that support development, deployment, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.
Identify and implement improvements that strengthen application performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
