Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent education to meet NYS DOH technologist standards.
• 0-1 year experience
• Licensing: Clinical Laboratory Technologist (DOH / Office of Professions)
• ASCP preferred or NCA certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks.
• Performs technical procedures in Molecular Pathology, Tumor Cytogenomics, Flow Cytometry as outlined in policy and procedures.
• Maintains documentation including remedial action for problems encountered and signs QC logs.
• Ensures all QC/calibration procedures are completed and recorded in LIS per shift/daily/monthly intervals.
• Prioritizes work to meet test result turnaround times and communicates critical results to nursing staff/physician.

Education

B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent education to meet NYS DOH technologist standards
