Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform clinical, technical, and administrative tasks in a high-volume laboratory setting. You will execute molecular pathology, tumor cytogenomics, and flow cytometry procedures in line with established policies and maintain rigorous quality control and documentation within the LIS.

The role requires NYS-DOH licensure and may prefer ASCP or NCA certification.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent to meet NYS DOH technologist standards.
• 0-1 year experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Licensing: Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by DOH / Office of Professions.
• ASCP or NCA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks.
• Perform technical procedures in Molecular Pathology, Tumor Cytogenomics, and Flow Cytometry per policy manuals.
• Maintain instrument/equipment with periodic maintenance and document remedial actions.
• Perform QC and calibration procedures; verify in LIS and record on charts; sign QC logs.
• Ensure QC/calibration procedures are completed and signed off per shift and day.
