Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform basic, routine and advanced diagnostic procedures for identifying microbial pathogens in clinical specimens. The role requires keeping up-to-date with techniques, instrumentation, and regulatory requirements while supporting special projects and quality controls.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field and NYS licensure, with 0–1 year of experience, and will contribute

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related Science field required.
NYs Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required.
0-1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

Performs and reports analytical tests, including high complexity tests, accurately.
Determines specimen acceptability and documents findings.
Maintains QA policies and performs quality control for testing.
Maintains a safe, clean, and compliant work area and troubleshoots equipment.
Enters test results into LIS for physician review.
Reviews Critical Test results and communicates with staff as required.
Assists in inventory control and supplies management.
Participates in additional projects and duties as assigned.
