Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Lab Supervisor, Microbiology for the day shift to lead a 7-day microbiology lab operation, including Environmental Monitoring and QA testing. You will drive performance metrics, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in science or technical field with lab experience in a regulated industry, strong leadership and budgeting skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Food Technology, or Technical required with 2 years of lab experience in a regulated industry.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing support laboratory.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Experience using project planning tools.
• Plant financial understanding.
• Computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shift team to deliver key performance metrics (EHS, Quality, Productivity).
• Manage budget for headcount, OT, and direct expenses for a shift.
• Drive CAPA activities and participate in audits and incident investigations.
• Direct lab operations and ensure timely QA testing across EMP, raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
• Mentor and develop staff; assign progressively challenging responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, Abbott policies, and regulatory requirements.
