Job summary

Abbott in Casa Grande, AZ, is seeking a Micro Supervisor to direct the Plant Microbiology QA Laboratory operations, including environmental monitoring and microbial testing across raw materials, in-process and finished products. Lead CAPA, ensure method adherence, and guide staff in quality and safety programs within the Nutrition division.

The role partners with QA, Manufacturing, Engineering and Regulatory to meet project goals, with duties spanning recruitment, performance reviews and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
• Technical knowledge of sterilization methods, microbial physiology, and aseptic handling.
• Experience with environmental monitoring and microbiological testing.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the quality system.
• Ensure budgetary and staff resources are met.
• Provide microbial support for retort, powder, and aseptic lines.
• Develop microbiological guidelines and specifications with division staff.
• Ensure compliance with procedures related to quality, regulatory, safety and HR.
• Coach, develop and mentor staff; conduct performance reviews.
