Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a Lab Supervisor in Microbiology to lead the section from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Under the direction of the manager, you will plan, organize, schedule and direct staff and processes to maximize efficiency and ensure quality results.

The role emphasizes adherence to CLIA, HIPAA and safety requirements, supervisory duties, performance evaluations and quality control.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of full-time supervisory experience.
• New York State Inspection Lab Requirements.
• Six years clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities of the department, distribute/assign work, determine priorities, schedule non-routine procedures.
• Interview, hire, train and evaluate staff; provide performance coaching.
• Perform advanced/specialized tests and re-evaluate methodologies to ensure accuracy.
• Check/approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy.
• Initiate quality-control measures and monitor adherence to laboratory standards.
• Perform duties of technologist as needed by absence or workload.
• Complete special projects, surveys, and statistical reports.
