Job summary

You will engage in continuous improvement, participate in audits, mentor staff, and coordinate with production to align schedules and lab needs. This role demands leadership, problem solving, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Food Technology, or Technical with 2 years' experience in a laboratory in a regulated industry.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing support laboratory.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Experience using project planning tools.
• Plant financial understanding.
• Computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift team to ensure delivery of all key performance metrics (EHS, Quality, Finance, Productivity).
• Initiate, manage and decide on actions affecting product quality and lab performance.
• Oversee budget accountability for headcount, OT and direct expenses for the shift.
• Track and improve lab efficiency, cost improvements and MSP objectives.
• Coach and develop team members; provide training and assign responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies; participate in internal/external audits.
