Job summary

Sysco South Florida, Inc. is seeking an Operations Specialist to assist a level III MHE technician with maintenance of material handling equipment and industrial batteries.

The role emphasizes safety, preventive maintenance, and hands-on electrical and mechanical tasks in a busy distribution environment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of AC/DC systems, and the ability to support battery technicians; on-call duties and travel within the site network may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; tech school preferred.
• Four years in an MHE maintenance role or equivalent experience.
• Valid state driver's license with liability coverage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair material handling equipment (MHE) and batteries.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspect belts, chains, and controls.
• Assist battery technicians with charger repairs and battery changes.
• Respond to safety policies and on-call duties as designated.
• Log hours and material data into CMMS, and keep work areas clean.
