Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking an Operations Maintenance Assistant to support MHE technician II & III with maintenance activities and industrial battery upkeep. The role emphasizes safety, learning electrical and hydraulic systems, and hands-on maintenance across the MHE fleet.

The position requires basic technical aptitude, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to gain certifications. The job offers a full-time schedule, 2nd shift, and strong growth within Sysco's stable operations.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED.
Tech school or equivalent preferred (2 years).
Two years in an MHE maintenance position preferred (No experience required).

Responsibilities

Demonstrate understanding and adherence to safety policies and requirements.
Learn controls and electric low voltage (AC/DC).
Learn small electrical repairs and welding as needed.
Perform PM for MHE fleet including oil checks, belts, and motor replacements as needed.
Learn hydraulic, electrical, PLC systems and mechanical subsystems.
Complete projects for buildings/grounds and assist with maintenance tasks.
Battery maintenance duties including charging, watering, and cleaning.
Participate in on-call program and log time/materials in CMMS daily.
Maintain clean and safe work areas and tools; comply with safety PPE.
Respond to emergencies and promote department safety; comply with OSHA.
