Job summary

Sysco South Florida, Inc. is seeking an Operations/MHE maintenance assistant to support the MHE technician III in maintenance activities for material handling equipment and industrial batteries.

You will perform preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and assist in battery work, while logging activities in CMMS and adhering to safety policies. Ability to travel between facilities may be required. A valid driver's license and certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• Four years in an MHE maintenance position.
• Valid state drivers license.
• Complete Sysco-approved defensive driving program.
• Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification within 3 months.
• MHE 8-hour maintenance tech certificate from manufacturer (e.g., Crown, Raymond, Hyster).

Responsibilities

• Assist MHE technician III with maintenance activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) of MHE fleet, including oil checks and belt/chain checks.
• Repair electrical components and welding as needed.
• Assist in battery maintenance: charging, water, equalizing charge.
• Log time and materials into CMMS daily (work orders, PMs).
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean condition.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
• Respond to on-call emergency situations when designated.
