Job summary

Sysco South Florida, Inc. is seeking an Operations Technician to assist with maintenance of material handling equipment (MHE) and industrial batteries. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, electrical and mechanical repairs, and assisting battery technicians.

The role supports safety programs and requires compliance with OSHA and Sysco policies. The candidate will log activities in the CMMS, perform on-call duties, and participate in facility maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or regulations.
• Ability to perform arithmetic across units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Assist MHE technician III with maintenance of material handling equipment and batteries.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks, oil level testing, and belt/chain inspections.
• Support battery charger repairs, battery changes, watering, and cleaning tasks.
• Log time and materials in CMMS daily (work orders, PMs).
• Follow safety policies, wear PPE, and participate in on-call program.
