Job summary

Sysco Foods is seeking an Operations Technician to assist with maintenance of material handling equipment and industrial batteries in a fast-paced distribution center. The role includes preventive maintenance, basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge, and collaboration with battery technicians.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, four years of MHE maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED is required.
Tech school or equivalent is preferred (2 years).
Four years in an MHE maintenance position or equivalent.
Must possess a valid state Driver's License and meet liability coverage standards.
Sysco-approved defensive driving program is required.
Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification within 3 months.
MHE maintenance certificate from manufacturer preferred (e.g., Crown, Raymond, Hyster).

Responsibilities

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge of AC/DC low voltage controls and electrical systems.
Perform small electrical repairs and welding as needed.
Maintain MHE and perform PMs, belts, chains, oil levels, and motor controls.
Support battery technicians with chargers, changes, watering, and spill cleanup.
Log time and materials in CMMS daily.
Keep work areas clean and compliant with safety standards.
