Job summary

This is an Operations position responsible for assisting Material Handling Equipment (MHE) technician III with maintenance activities associated with material handling equipment, and maintenance of industrial batteries.

Demonstrates safety, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC knowledge; performs PMs, repairs, and battery work; on-call readiness; strong benefits and growth at Sysco.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; tech school preferred.
• Four years in an MHE maintenance role or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license and liability coverage proof.
• Sysco-specific defensive driving program completion.
• P.I.E. certification within 3 months; OEM MHE certs.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.
• Knowledge of AC/DC low voltage controls and welding basics.
• Perform small electrical repairs and welding as needed.
• Maintain MHE fleet; PMs, oil checks, belt/chain replacements.
• Understand hydraulic, electrical, drive systems and PLCs.
• Assist in building upkeep, lighting, plumbing, carpentry tasks.
• Assist battery technicians with charging, watering and cleanup.
• Log time/materials in CMMS daily; manage work orders.
• Adhere to OSHA, safety rules and non-traditional hours.
