Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to support clinics in Minneapolis, Edina, Burnsville, Maplewood, and Brooklyn Park. The role focuses on facilitating access to services, coordinating patient and staff scheduling, and handling registration and related clerical tasks.

This 0.6 FTE position runs from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and may provide support at other Maternal Fetal Medicine sites as needed, contributing to a seamless patient and staff experience.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical training is preferred.
• Associates Degree required or preferred.
• One to three years experience in scheduling or healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquires consent for medical records and authorizations from managed care plans and other payers.
• Communicates with patient, staff and referring physician regarding authorization decisions.
• Schedules services such as tests, procedures, follow-up visits and other items per Doctor’s orders.
• Produces efficient and accurate schedules and associated reports.
• Records and updates schedule changes accurately.
• Monitors discharge status and coordinates discharge communications to referring physicians.
• Answers multiple telephone lines and assists callers promptly.
