Job summary

The Southern Connecticut Gas Company seeks a Supervisor - Meter & Services in Orange, CT to lead field crews and oversee service technicians. You will ensure safe daily operations, manage schedules, and coordinate emergency response activities while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in Natural Gas utility operation.
• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Valid CT Driver’s License.
• HVAC license or certification is desirable.
• Strong leadership/managerial skills required.
• Must be available to support gas emergency field situations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises to ensure safe and efficient operation of the daily field activities of Service Technicians.
• Ensure Technicians meet gas leak emergencies targets & respond when technicians require additional assistance.
• Provides oversight on policies and procedures outlined in SCG/CNG Service Policies and SCG O&M Policies.
• Coordinate safety training, documentation, inspections, and accident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct effective weekly safety meetings.
• Champion Avangrid`s safety culture and be a role model for safety.
• Supports and provides all required and necessary resources for Service Technicians to maintain first responder status and service contract obligations.
• Ensures mandated regulatory compliance schedule is achieved for meter & service-related activities.
• On-call responsibilities for Emergency response
• Responsible to schedule & complete fitting work associated to gas service replacement program
• Communicate with Customers and community officials & state regulatory staff concerning all aspects of the gas utility operations, maintenance, & service delivery.
• Responsible for labor relations contract administration and communications.
• Conduct employee evaluations for annual performance appraisal process.
