Job summary

The Southern Connecticut Gas Company, part of Avangrid, is seeking a Supervisor for the Meter & Services group in Orange, CT. You will oversee field technicians, manage safety compliance, and coordinate daily schedules to ensure reliable gas service and rapid emergency response.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in Natural Gas utility operation.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
• HVAC license or certification desirable.
• Strong leadership and ability to support gas emergency field situations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily field activities of Service Technicians for safety and efficiency.
• Ensure gas leak emergency targets are met and provide assistance when needed.
• Coordinate safety training, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and conduct weekly safety meetings.
• Schedule and secure resources for meter/service work and emergency responses.
• Communicate with customers and officials regarding operations and services.
• Oversee labor relations and conduct employee evaluations.
