Job summary

The Southern Connecticut Gas Company in Orange, CT seeks a Supervisor - Meter & Services to provide administrative and field supervision of bargaining unit technicians in the SCG Meter & Service Department. The role oversees safety compliance, planning, scheduling, and execution of fieldwork including meter manifold installations and customer turn-ons/offs.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in natural gas utility operation.
• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Valid CT Driver’s License.
• HVAC license or certification is desirable.
• Strong leadership/managerial skills required.
• Available to support gas emergency field situations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily field activities of Service Technicians to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Oversees emergency response targets and staffing support.
• Ensures adherence to SCG/CNG Service Policies and SCG O&M Policies.
• Coordinates safety training, inspections, and investigations.
• Maintains regulatory compliance schedules for meter/service activities.
• On-call for emergency response.
• Schedules and completes gas service replacement work.
• Communicates with customers, officials, and state regulators.
• Manages labor relations and conducts annual evaluations.
