Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Merchant Specialist to advise clients on payments solutions and to grow the firm’s merchant services portfolio. The role requires deep knowledge of digital payments, strong relationship skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration with Business Banking partners.

The position involves field-based client meetings, travel, and end-to-end sales activities from needs assessment to proposal and contract renewals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payments industry experience.
• 2+ years of direct sales experience.
• Expert knowledge of Digital Payments/Receivables, Merchant, or Treasury solutions.
• Proven experience cultivating and strengthening client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently toward goals.
• Effective communication skills in written and oral form.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Leverage consultative sales process to identify client needs across industries.
• Recommend solutions focusing on complex opportunities and long-term value.
• Achieve sales and revenue goals while balancing risk and client experience.
• Build relationships and provide subject matter expertise on pricing, software, gateways, and security.
• Identify opportunities and develop a pipeline with internal partners and clients.
• Act as champion for clients by connecting internal experts to help achieve goals.
• Establish relationships with associations and vendor partners in a dynamic payment landscape.
• Independently identify sales opportunities from the bank's client portfolio.
