Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a customer-focused team member to join our store operations. You will engage customers and peers to deliver an outstanding shopping experience, communicate daily tasks, and coach others to achieve service and sales goals.

You may train new hires, assist with scheduling, and ensure product freshness and safety across the department. You will contribute to a positive team environment, handle cash when needed, and support inventory and product display duties.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service with total engagement and approachability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to influence others and build rapport for repeat business.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach team to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Assist training of new team members and cross-training of high-potential talent.
• Help with department scheduling to boost engagement, service, and sales.
• Monitor product rotation and dating to ensure freshness and policy compliance.
• Lead by example in safety, orderliness, and Meijer standards.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and display where applicable.
• Foster an inclusive environment and support Meijer's diversity goals.
• Operate register and handle cash when needed; operate powered equipment as required.
• Participate in period-end inventories and potential cross-department Lead capacity.
