Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a part-time Merchandise Supervisor who will oversee merchandise staff, schedule shifts, and ensure inventory levels while delivering guest experiences.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Merchandise, you will assign daily tasks, maintain a positive work environment, and train team members to provide excellent guest service. This role is non-exempt under FLSA.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous personnel supervision experience required.
• Counterpoint register system and inventory control experience is required.
• Proficiency in basic math skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to learn and execute a concept, multitask and delegate.
• Must have the physical ability to lift 35 pounds, work on your feet, and walk the Zoo grounds for several hours.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, 5 days a week, Monday-Sunday, including some holidays.

Merchandise Supervisor (Part- Time)

Toledo Zoo & Aquarium

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Merchandise department is currently seeking a part-time Merchandise Supervisor who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. This role is responsible for the oversight and scheduling of subordinate merchandise personnel. In addition, this individual will communicate/assign daily tasks to accomplish department’s planned goals and ensure adequate inventory levels. The ideal candidate will promote a positive environment while supporting/training team members to achieve excellent experience for our guests.

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Merchandise and is part- time, non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Minimum Training & Qualifications:

• Must be 18+ Years of age
• A High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Previous personnel supervision experience required.
• Counterpoint register system and Inventory control experience is required.
• Proficiency in basic math skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to learn and execute a concept, multitask and delegate.

• Individuals may also be exposed to inclement weather conditions such as heat in the summer or low temperatures in the winter at the outdoor stands.
