Qualifications

• Proficiency in basic math skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to learn and execute a concept, multitask and delegate.
• Must have the physical ability to lift 35 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule, 5 days a week, including some holidays.
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace.

Visual Merchandising Supervisor (Part- Time)

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Merchandise department is currently seeking a part-time Visual Merchandising Supervisor who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. This role is responsible for the oversight of subordinate merchandise personnel while assisting with the creation of displays, stocking products, relocating fixtures and keeping displays fresh to drive sales. In addition, they will assist with creating a safe and pleasing shopping environment for our guests. This individual will communicate/assign daily tasks to Merchandise crew members to accomplish department’s planned goals and ensure adequate inventory levels. The ideal candidate will promote a positive environment while supporting/training team members to achieve excellent experience for our guests.

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Merchandise and is part- time, non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Minimum Training & Qualifications:

• Must be 18+ Years of age
• A High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Counterpoint register system and Inventory control experience is required.
• Proficiency in basic math skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to learn and execute a concept, multitask and delegate.
• Must have the physical ability to lift 35 pounds, work on your feet, and be able to walk the Zoo grounds for several hours at a time.
• Individuals may also be exposed to inclement weather conditions such as heat in the summer or low temperatures in the winter at the outdoor stands.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, 5 days a week, Monday-Sunday, including some holidays.
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
