Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a part-time Facilities & Grounds Leader to supervise and train a team of part-time staff, ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming grounds for guests across all public areas.

Reporting to the Park Facilities & Grounds Manager, this role includes outdoor work, lifting up to 50 lbs, and a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and some holidays to support the guest experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18+ years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Understanding the importance of a clean and safe working environment.

Facilities & Grounds Leader (Part-Time)

Toledo Zoo & Aquarium

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Facilities & Grounds team is in search of a part-time Facilities & Grounds Leader who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. This position will be responsible for the supervision and training of part-time Facilities and Grounds employees for the Toledo Zoo. In addition, they will provide the services necessary to maintain cleanliness, safe conditions, sanitation, and pick-up appearance of all Zoo grounds. This includes custodial and grounds maintenance, ensuring that restrooms, walkways, seating areas and other public spaces remain spotless and welcoming for our guests.

This role reports to the Park Facilities & Grounds Manager and is non-exempt, part- time under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Minimum Training & Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18+ years of age.
• A valid drivers’ license and the ability to be insured by the fleet insurance carrier is preferred.
• Flexible schedule is required, with the ability to work night and weekend hours, including some holidays.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must understand the importance of a clean and safe working environment with a strong attention to detail.
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
