Job summary

Westat, Inc. seeks motivated Field Interviewers to support the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). FIs conduct in-person and video interviews with adults in a nationally representative sample, arrange visits, and collect documents. Training is mandatory in January 2027, with travel to locations as needed.

Positions are part-time and run in two data collection periods annually, with breaks between rounds. A field supervisor provides guidance, and strict data security requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older and able to enter binding confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Available to complete mandatory web-based home study training, including required Teams video sessions, between January 4 and January 15, 2027.
• Available to travel to and attend mandatory in-person training in January 2027 with dates specified.
• Available to complete additional mandatory web-based and virtual training activities, following the in-person training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in households.
• Contact households in-person or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation; set appointments.
• Complete and transmit electronic data daily and submit administrative paperwork.
• Adhere to data security and confidentiality requirements and report to a field supervisor.
